About the Department

• In the year 1963 Tamil language programme at the Pre University course level started .Next In the year  1972 Under Graduate course in Tamil was started.
• The  Research (Ph.D programme has been introduced  in the academic year 2012.
• The Department started MA Tamil in the academic year 2013 September.
• BA., Tamil was established in the year 1963.
• BA., Tamil(Shift II) was established in the year 2006.
• Ph.D., (Full Time / Part Time)was established in the year 2012.
• MA., Tamil was established in the year 2013.
